well, today i went for a SGEM Drama Workshop by Hosen Leong. You know the famous actor that acts with Selena? Yup, that's Hosen Leong. It was a great workshop. He was very funny and gave useful tips for speaking proper english and how to improve your acting skills. He was very helpful and encouraging. The whole experience was very fruitful. I enjoyed the workshop alot. We did a small 7minute sketch with script provided by him. It was a funny sketch that promoted Speak Good English.As you all know, Singaporeans have a habit of speaking slip-slap english aka Singlish. The government then started this Speak Good English Movement like any other campagne the government tried to implement to improve our languages. Singlish happens when people direct translate chinese into english sentences. This formed the so-called Singlish. Now, this movement is started to promote and implement that all should speak proper and standard english. This sketch include a fairy god-makchek(auntie, in malay) or the famous Gary Potter from Woodlands. It also includes a character Bobby or Linda who speaks Singlish and the fairy god-makchek or Gary Potter from woodlands is suppose to help improve and help Bobby/Linda to speak proper and standard english. I hereby announce that, EVERYONE SHOULD SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH! lol.
